SHIVRATRI
Maha Shivratri is a Hindu festival celebrated every year in reverence of Lord Shiva. Shiva temples are flocked by devotees, young and old, who come to perform the traditional Shivalinga worship and hence hope for favours from the god. The devotees go for a day long fast on Shivratri. The Shiv puja is held at night and the ritual is to bathe the Shiv Linga in milk. Some people dress like Lord Shiva and beg money from devotees on this holy day.
